Six dogs were spotted by a woman on a property at Miguel County in New Mexico. One of the dogs was pit bull. It was chained up and was in a horrible condition.
In New Mexico, there is a law that makes it illegal to chain your dog if the owner is not around. The woman who saw the situation called the Animal Welfare Coalition In Northeastern New Mexico.
The chained up pit bull was only two years old at the time of rescue. She was later given the name Violet.
According to the founder of NMDOG Angela Stell, police officers were able to dispatch someone to go to the reported property. They planned to explain to the owner the law that was being broken. However, it turns out the owner was in prison some other unrelated charges.
All of the dogs were rescued. They discovered that Violet also suffered from extreme sunburn. She is also suffering from a condition called flystrike. It’s an unsightly disease where maggots consume the flesh.
Every dog rescued were taken to the vet and given appropriate medical attention including Violet. Violet is described as a timid dog, but as time goes by she learns to be more open to people. She is slowly learning to trust people again.
Violet tends to shy away from people who move at a fast pace. The rescuers can’t imagine the level of mistreatment she had to endure. Violet seems to improve day by dave. She’s slowly becoming happier. This is evident in her recent pictures show at the end of the video. Check out this story in the video below.
